SKIN CANCER AWARENESS!

ProTechSun Glass Tinting has a solution with window tinting!

Professionally installed window films are effective in blocking harmful UV rays.

You may be getting serious ultraviolet exposure in the place where you should feel the safest - your home. Many people do not realize they are exposed to the sun while at work or at home because damaging UV rays penetrate glass. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, more than 1 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year. Of these cases, more than 111,900 are melanoma, a cancer that claims nearly 8,000 lives annually.

The simple, professional installation of window film can protect you and your family from almost 100 percent of harmful ultraviolet light. Glass tinting helps prevent the devastating effects of ultraviolet rays, such as premature aging, wrinkles, sunspots and even skin cancer.

Once installed on a home or office, window tint provides a year-round layer of protection and doesn't require maintenance or special cleaning techniques. Dermatologists are even writing prescriptions for window film to protect patients at risk for skin cancer or other sun-related illnesses.

Despite such high levels of protection, window film is transparent and does not noticeably affect window views or the overall appearance of a home. At the same time, also helps protect furnishings, floor coverings and artwork from sun-related damage.

Panorama® window film carries The Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation!

TAX CREDIT

Receive a tax credit for installing Panorama window film in 2007.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 created federal tax credits for consumers who make certain energy-efficient improvements to their homes. A tax credit directly reduces income tax, unlike a deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax. The credit then directly increases the tax refund received or decreases the tax due.

In 2006, window film was added to the list of improvements that qualify for a tax credit. This credit expires at the end of 2007, so install now to realize these savings. Homeowners can receive a 10 percent credit on the cost of the window film, up to $500. Installation does not apply, only the cost of the film.

Cooling costs related to the heat gained through windows can make up about 40 percent of a home's summer utility bill. Solar control window film reduces total solar energy by up to 80 percent, which helps lower energy consumption.

Eligibility
Anyone who has purchased qualifying Panorama brands of solar control window film (see manufacturer's certification for eligible films) between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2007 is eligible to receive a 2007 tax credit.

How to Receive Credit
Complete IRS form 5695 and file 2007 Income Tax Returns by April 15, 2008. For those who purchased eligible film in 2006, consult with your tax advisor for advice on receiving a 2006 tax credit.

Forms are also downloadable from http://www.energystar.gov/. For further information, visit http://www.energy.gov/taxbreaks.htm. Maintain copies of the dealer invoice and the manufacturer's certification statement for your records.
